If you’re joining UCL this year then you’re in for a treat as we’re taking things to new levels with our best Welcome Week line-up ever. Your welcome experience will start and end at London’s most iconic club, Ministry of Sound. With four rooms of banging house, dance and techno music there’s arguably no better place on earth to hear the world’s greatest DJs play the world’s best music.
Start at Ministry, keep the pace up all week, and end at Ministry with one HUGE closing party.
Our headline nightlife events are designed to help you experience the best of London’s clubbing scene – the best venues, great production and brilliant DJs. We run these nights in partnership with events experts Milkshake – their years of experience help us deliver the best Freshers’ events in London year after year.
Wristbands sell out in advance every year, so secure yours early, sit back, and wait for the UCL freshers’ madness.

The Move In Fiesta @ Ministry of Sound – Sunday 24th September 2023!
This is the official Welcome to UCL Party!
The Move In Party is the Students’ Union UCL trademark event for kicking freshers’ off.
Every year we exclusively book out one of the biggest and best nightspots in the city, and this year we’re once again taking over Ministry of Sound. London’s biggest and most famous nightclub, the legendary nightspot will welcome you in a truly epic way with great DJ’s, visuals, FX production and of course the UK’s loudest sound-system!
Expect to experience one of the best clubbing experiences London has to offer.
We also have a pre event so you can brace yourselves there ahead of the night, more information on the location will be available in early September

THE BEACH PARTY @ SCALA Kings Cross, Monday September 25th 2023
On your first day in London we’re taking you back to those summer vibes with a huge beach party at one of London’s Biggest and best night spots, Scala in Kings Cross!
Not only is the legendary SCALA the venue of choice for this Monday night party, but it’s also the venue TEAM UCL visit every Wednesday of term for Sports night, the capitals biggest and longest running teams club night!
The event will feature a special guest DJ, pool inflatables, vibey beach decor, cheap drinks and much more across the 3 spaces of this super club!
DJ’s will be heating up the dance floor with non-stop summer anthems, House, EDM, HipHop, Pop, Disco, R&B & more across the 3 rooms!

The UCL Rave at Fabric, Wednesday September 27th (WRISTBAND ONLY)
This is going to be a clubbing experience like no other and certainly not one to sleep on as we once again taking over a world top-ranked club to produce a night to remember. Set to be the most high energy night in your social calendar, featuring stunning audiovisual productions, alongside 7 DJ’s playing everything from house, garage, trap & electro to hip-hop, grime and bass.

– State of the art clubbing production & Funktion 1 Sound-system
– Room 1 headlined by a surprise Guest DJ & Host

The Freshers Glow Rave @ EGG Nightclub London – Thursday September 28th 2022
This year we’re once again returning to one of the capitals biggest clubs – EGG! After the sell out party in 2022, we taking over this 5 room nightlife space for another session and this time around we’re bringing you our BIGGEST UV PARTY YET!

The penultimate night of welcome week will welcome the Battle of the Halls to the brilliant o2 Academy Islington!

After what’s looking like the biggest UCL Freshers yet, we bring it back to where it all began for the Official Closing Party at Ministry of Sound.
Once again putting the UK’s biggest and best soundsystem to great effect, we couldn’t think of a better nightclub to bring the 2023 welcome week full circle, closing with the ultimate clubbing experience!

The wristband gets you guaranteed access to some of the best club in London and queue jump (dedicated queue) for both events at Ministry of Sound.
The Nightlife Wristband will save you money; not only by being cheaper than individual tickets in total, but by avoiding the booking fees that come with individual tickets!
You also get 10% off everything in-store at our UCL merchandise shop, the Hanger!
Please also note, that buying the wristband is the only way to get into the event at fabric London, as there are no single tickets for sale to this event via UCL.

Please note: The Students’ Union website is the only place that official Freshers’ Nightlife 2023 wristbands will be available from. Any wristbands on sale elsewhere are not official and will not give you access to any official Students Union UCL Freshers 2023
Each venue does their own security check and will turn away anyone without ID, regardless of how old you look. DO NOT forget your ID or Student ID (Student ID will not do as it does not show your date of birth) Dress codes vary from event to event so be sure to check out all the info before you attend!
Tickets are non-refundable and management reserves the right of admission, unless the event is canceled then you will receive a full refund.

🔵 WHEN WILL I GET MY WRISTBAND?
When you make your purchase, you’ll be sent an email confirmation with a ticket and order number.
Collection will be on campus and more information will be added here next week.
WRISTBANDS CANNOT BE COLLECTED AT THE VENUE, THEY MUST BE COLLECTED FROM A RECEPTION IN ADVANCE.

Yes! Over the welcome period UCL hosts many events across both the University campus and the city itself. From boat parties, to trips out of town there is so much to do and explore!
